As Director, Pauline is responsible for developing and driving the business development strategy for Race Cottam Associates, placing great value on our valued relationships with clients and consultants.

As Education sector lead, Pauline has a wealth of experience which she brings to the projects she continues to be involved in as Project Director and Technical Advisor.  Pauline excels in stakeholder engagement and understanding the needs of all user groups.

Pauline has also been involved in a variety of projects within the Energy from Waste sector, from feasibility studies through to bids, working up to approval of planning applications. This sector involves a thorough understanding of the technical processes involved in the industry, and how the architecture can assist in the development of a practical and appropriate solution.

She is driven by how good design can improve mental health and wellbeing and is an advocate for the benefits that teamwork can bring to a project.

Out of work, Pauline can be found on the Peaks either walking her Staffie Susie or running with her family.

Her favourite building is Castle Drogo by Lutyens. Pauline says she has been lucky enough to have designed her dream commissions; incorporating a slide in a new primary school interior and repurposing and renovating an existing building to create the UTC Leeds.
