Working from concept design and inception to delivery onsite, Race Cottam Associates are delivering this two storey newbuild health centre in the heart of Waverley.
The Brief
The development will provide essential primary healthcare services in an easily accessible location, situated near other proposed local amenities as part of the wider masterplan.
The Design
The site lies within the heart of Waverley, forming part of the new Olive Lane High Street. The site is adjacent to new housing developments with the new high street linking the residential and advanced manufacturing areas of the site.
The design sits in a strong material context of brick, making reference to the high street being developed at the same time and creating a fully coherent scheme. It is expected to serve 6000 residents.
The Outcome
Sustainability has been a key concept from the inception of the scheme. Olive Lane medical centre will achieve BREEAM Excellent as part of NHS new build requirements.
